On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Fox News 5 reported that the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a bank robbery in progress at the Regions Bank in Georgia. K-9 Robbi was deployed immediately to assist the deputy on duty, as the suspect ran on foot, Robbi was unexpectedly struck by a vehicle yet successfully captured the suspect.
When Coweta County police were reported to locate the bank robber suspect, police attempted to make a “traffic stop”, but the driver failed to yield and took off, which led to a high-speed chase. The chase ended with a violent collision at a busy intersection of Bullsboro Drive when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole. This is where it’s K-9 Robbi’s time to shine as the suspect fled on foot into a Burger King parking lot through a shopping center. As Robbi was getting closer, he was suddenly struck by a vehicle but that didn’t stop Robbi from taking action as he continued to keep running and chased down the suspect.
It was reported that it was a busy street when police and Robbi had to begin the foot chase with the suspect. Robbi was hit by a passing car which simply was an accident, but it was unknown who had hit Robbi during the chase. After the suspect was arrested, Robbi was transported to Sweetwater Veterinary Hospital and was reported to have only minor abrasions and no internal injuries. Robbi is perfectly okay and the police went to the public and spoke out for Robbi’s heroic duties.
The sheriff’s office reported, “Despite being hit, the k-9 continued the pursuit and successfully assisted in taking the suspect into custody” and they also reported an update, “Robbi is enjoying some well-earned R&R before getting back to work”. Fox News 5 reports that police have not revealed any information on the suspect.
The bank robber suspect is unknown, it is unknown if the vehicle was stolen or the suspect’s, and it is unknown of the charges and when the court dates are set. A not so “fun” fact about Robbi is that he has a tragic history. He had a different partner back in 2024, Deputy Eric Minix, who was struck and killed during a violent high-speed chase in Alabama. Robbi was then reassigned to a younger deputy with the Coweta County Sheriff’s office and is having the time of his life with tons of love and treats after his heroic duties.
