Rajwinder Singh is on trial for fatally stabbing 24 year old Toyah Cordingley on a beach in far North Queensland on October 22 2018.
Toyah took a 40 minute drive to the beach taking her dog along to walk along the beach. Toyah accordingly was fatally stabbed then buried in the sand on the beach. Toyah’s boyfriend Marco Herdenreich had called triple zero to report her missing. She was found by her father after Troy Cordingley reported that he saw “ an unusual amount of sand in one spot.” Her dog tied up to a tree nearby unhurt. He was alarmed after Toyah had been gone for a while Sunday afternoon.
Troy stated “ I regaled back, I was horrified I yelled out Help me!” Troy was shocked and stunned, he said. Toyah suffered extraordinarily deep wounds, 17 centimeters deep to the neck, abdomen, chest, and finger. The young woman may have been buried alive, Crown prosecutor Nathan Crane said in court
Rajwinder Singh, a nurse, was arrested in March of 2023 and charged with Toyah murder. He pled not guilty, his first trial ended when the Jury failed to reach a verdict on Monday November 17th. Jurors, Judges, lawyers for both sides were driven to the beach where the murder happened. walking nearly 2.5 miles to get to the exact spot where her body was found Rajwinder was a suspect after a blue Alfa Romero Sedan was seen leaving the beach and was close to where toyah phone was pinged. Prosecutors allege that after killing Toyah, Singh took her phone and other items and drove by “bodies of water” so he could get rid of them, ABC reports.
