Travis Decker’s body was found by the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. Thursday night remains were found outside of Leavenworth. The remains come back to the dad who killed his 3 daughters.
Travis Decker, Travis was an army veteran he was wanted for three accounts of first degree murder and three accounts of kidnapping. Travis had his three daughters, five-year-old Olivia, eight-year-old Evelyn, and nine-year-old Paityn, for visitation on May 30th; he didn’t return them to his ex-wife, Whitney Cozart. There was a search with multiple agencies going on for months looking for the young girls. On June 2, the police went on a search for the girls after their mother, Whitney filled out a missing person file for her 3 daughters. Police found Travis’s vehicle near the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County where officers found the bodies of the three missing girls, but Travis Decker “was not located.” On Sept. 18 park rangers were in a remote wooded area south of Leavenworth in the Cascade mountains when they found the possible remains of Travis Decker.
Arianna Cozart, who is Whitney Cozart’s attorney, claims this about Travis Decker: “We are praying that the remains are confirmed to be Travis’s. We continue to be grateful for law enforcement’s efforts in this case.” She also states that, “the father had some issues with mental health and some instability in his life.”
A couple nights ago cops were submitted a description they received from a hiker about a man who had a beard and tattoos that matched Travis’s features. There was also another sighting of Travis Decker in a store.
The case is around five days in and the investigation may end but investigators are waiting for the DNA of the remains found.
