The Best Picture was sought online to either be ‘One Battle After Another’ or ‘Sinners’ with ‘One Battle…’ directed by Paul Thomas Anderson winning the prestigious award.
Following up with The Best Actor in a Leading Role, Michael B. Jordan with his double-performance in ‘Sinners’ where he plays both twins.
Next up with Best Actress in a Leading Role, Jessie Buckley wins with her performance in ‘Hamnet’. Buckley then gives a powerful acceptance speech of thanking family, producers, and ‘shipmates’—ending it with a quote to motivate all women to continue and thrive. “We all come from a lineage of women who continue to create against all odds. Thank you for recognizing me in this role. This is the greatest honor. I can’t even believe it.”
The Best Supporting Actor/Actress awards were won by Sean Penn for ‘One Battle…’ and Amy Madigan for ‘Weapons’.
The Best Director was awarded to Paul Thomas Anderson for his incredible work in ‘One Battle After Another’.
The Best Original Song for a movie was won by ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ with their hit ‘Golden’.
The Best Original Score, which is a substantial amount of music made by composers specifically for the movie as a dramatic underscoring, was won by Ludwig Görransson for ‘Sinners’.
The Best Animated Film was between ‘KPop Demon Hunters’, ‘Zootopia 2’, ‘Acro’, ‘Little Amélie or the Character of Rain’, and ‘Elio’. The winner ultimately ended up being ‘KPop Demon Hunters’, which was suspected by online audiences.
The Best International Film was won by Norway with their work ‘Sentimental Value’.
The Best Documentary Feature was won by Pasha Talankin with ‘Mr. Nobody Against Putin’ where his whole life changed after rebelling against the corrupted law and sent video evidence of schools needing to be perfect with patriotism & militarisation to Borenstein, the other producer of the film. After the evidence was sent over, police cars surveyed Talankin’s house. Believing danger, Talankin went into exile in Summer 2024 with the help of his producers and aides. They were able to manage to get him to an asylum in Europe.
Casandra Kulukundis has just made history after being the first person to ever win the Academy Award for Achievement in Casting for her work in ‘One Battle After Another’.
There were many other winners at the 2026 Oscars who made history by winning their awards. Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t even have to win an Oscar to make history, after Conan O’Brien decided to make a new meme out of him, with “TFW You Didn’t Agree to This,’ with a smirking DiCaprio in center view.
