Interviewing Veteran Michael Becker

Mr. Becker is a teacher here at Spring Grove Area High School, but that’s not all that he did in his lifetime; he also served our country. Mr. Becker served in the Air Force for 4 years. He was very lucky to serve during peacetime, which means there weren’t really any wars stirring up at the time. He was stationed in Germany for 3.5 out of the 4 years that he had to serve so he was lucky enough to be able to explore Europe at the time.  Mr. Becker first deployed in 1994-1998. He was 25 years old at his time of deployment. Mr. Becker claims that his fondest memory while serving is bowling and watching movies on base, and he also remembers driving on the autobahn as fast as they could. Mr. Becker graduated from Dover Area High School and did end up going to college but he ended up having a bad student teaching experience so that encouraged him to join the military. After his time in the service he worked as a teacher in Texas before wanting to come back to his home state to teach.
