In March 2024 Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was involved in a high speed crash in Dallas Texas which led to a 6 car crash. He was driving a Lamborghini Urus SUV at 119 mph and then fled the scene on foot. He pleaded guilty to 3rd degree felony charges and 30 days in jail and a 6 game suspension after he healed from his injury he suffered in the last game he played. Rashee Rice said, “You don’t really know how much you love something until it’s gone,” when asked about missing football. Rashee Rice’s Quarterback, Patrick Mahomes said, “When it comes to the way he moves and runs routes, I have a good feel for where he wants the ball and where to throw it,” when asked about missing Rashee from the receiving core. Rashee Rice had to pay roughly $150,000 dollars to the victims of the crash. In his first game back in over 380 days he had 7 receptions for 42 yards and 2 touchdowns vs the Raiders on Oct. 19.
