On Monday Sept. 15, the Philadelphia Phillies clinched the NL East title for the second straight year vs the LA Dodgers in LA. They won 6-5 over the Dodgers in 10 innings when J.T. Realmuto drove in the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly to take the lead at the top of the tenth inning. Then David Robertson was able to not allow any runs in the bottom of the 10th to win the game. After the game, Kyle Schwarber said, “I feel like we’ve done such a great job this year,” “we’ve had a lot of really big injuries happen to us and we just have that next man up mentality. I felt like guys came up, they stepped up right away and got the job done. That’s how you win big baseball games.” Bryce Harper also said, “that was a heavyweight fight, man.” According to Todd Zolecki reporting for MLB, The Phillies didn’t land in L.A until a little before 2 am, several hours later than scheduled due to a mechanical issue with their plane. But they still had to play the Dodgers at 7:10 pm regardless of when they arrived. Bryce Harper was seen drinking apple juice in the locker room after the game to celebrate because he doesn’t drink alcohol.
