According to People.com, On Monday, Oct. 6, Rachel and Brandon Dumovich, a Wisconsin couple, were found shot and killed in their car on the side of the road in Illinois. The couple was one week shy of celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary. This event could be a murder-suicide, but there is not much known about why or how the accident happened. The firearm that shot them was found inside the car when the police searched it. On Oct. 15, the autopsies were performed on Rachel and Brandon.
Harvard Police Chief Tyson Bauman told Fox News, “while a murder-suicide is a potential scenario, no final determination has been made.” Police also said that the investigation into the deaths “remain active as investigators await the McHenry County Coroners final report and the review and processing of additional evidentiary items.” From what police have said after briefly issuing a shelter in place, they stated that, “At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no evidence to suggest that there is any danger or threat to the public.”
According to an online obituary, Rachel was a 29 year old, who was a two sport varsity athlete in high school, doing track and cheerleading, when she later gained a Bachelor of Business Administration, Cum Laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, in 2018. She was known for being an ambitious and passionate person who had a strong sense of empathy and compassion, and always championed those who needed a voice.
Another online obituary stated that Brandon, had just turned 30 years old one day before the accident. He was known to bring laughter and happiness into the lives of the people he was surrounded by. Brandon served his country as a Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He showed great commitment and passion while serving his time. He found joy in the most random things and brought joy to still sad things.
