Super Bowl LIX was on February 9, 2025 and the Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22. Philadelphia is known for their craziness and partying if they win a big game in any sport.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts was seen in Disney world not even 24 hours after winning the big game. He was featured in their morning parade down Main Street. He was on a float with different Disney icons.
The fans took the city streets Sunday night to celebrate the big win. The fans were cheering even more because it’s the Eagles second Super Bowl win. Before the big win, the police greased traffic light poles so that fans don’t climb or rip down the poles. It was reported that at least 5 poles were torn down, regardless of polices’ preventative measures.
Videos circulating on social media show groups of fans pulling the poles from the ground and carrying them through the streets. However, police have yet to identify any of the fans, or say if they will seek any charges against those responsible. Poles being torn down by fans was just one of several incidents reported during Sunday night’s celebrations, including a fire that broke out near 12th and Market street.
Following the chaos, the poles were left lying across sidewalks and streets, some near historic sculptures.
