Starting off the 2024 year, an earthquake hit Japan on Monday, Jan 1 with a magnitude of 7.6 and killing and destroying homes.
February 11, Kansas City Chiefs take the win for Super Bowl 58. The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.
On Wednesday, March 6, Nikki Haley announced the ending of her presidential campaign. Haley said in her speech, “The time has now come to suspend my campaign”.
On April 20, The United States House of Representatives passed a bill for banning TikTok. The Bill Prohibits IHE (Institution of Higher Education) from receiving federal funding unless they ban the use of TikTok.
On May 25, storms struck down in 7 states leading to at least 18 deaths. Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee were impacted by the storms. The storms struck mainly in the central United States but damaging winds and twisters in the mid river valleys.
On June 10, Apple announces a partnership with Open AI. The Open AI would be integrated with Siri. Open AI are the creators of Chat GPT with that being part of Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence is the term for Apple’s very own Generative AI Software.
On July 15, Donald Trump Chooses J.D. Vance as President running mate. The interesting part was back in 2016 Vance was part of the “Never Trump” Movement even disagreeing with his policies.
On August 9, In Brazil’s São Paulo State a plane crashed down killing all 61 passengers. This was the deadliest crash since January of 2023, killing 72 people.
On September 30, the United Kingdom gave up coal operation. The UK was the origin to coal power plants and ending its 142 year fossil fuel usage. Their first coal power station was built in 1882 in London with the inventor being Thomas Edison.
On October 11, Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla) unveils the all new “Cybercab”. This includes both the Robotaxi and the Robovan. The Robotaxi features two gull-wing doors and no pedals or steering wheel but includes a screen in the middle of the taxi. Tesla is set to release a buyable option priced at under $30,000. The Tesla Robovan is to be released in the future and be able to transport 20 people at once. These new cars are set to start production in 2026.
On November 5-6, Former president Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance win the election with 277 electoral votes. Trump and Vance were running against Vice President Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Trump won all key swing states necessary. Officially at 5:34 am ET on Nov. 6, Trump won the election making him the 47th and 45th president of the United States.
December 1, United States President Joe Biden Pardons his son Hunter Biden. President Biden went into his presidency stating that he would not use his authority to pardon his son Hunter Biden. President Biden claims that his son Hunter is being “selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.” President Biden justifies pardoning his son by his unfair prosecution.
