As the summer approaches, the Champions League Quarter Final draw has been revealed after a very exciting Round of 16.
The most anticipated matchup is between Real Madrid and Manchester City. With the amount of star power on both squads, including Jude Bellingham for Real Madrid and Phil Foden for Manchester City, this game has become the one to watch over the last few years. With Real Madrid’s deep history of winning, and Manchester City’s recent spike of success over the last decade, this should be one of the biggest knockout stage games the Champions League has ever seen.
The next most anticipated game would be between Arsenal and Bayern Munich, a Champions League matchup 10 years in the making. The last time these two teams met in 2014, Bayern ended up winning 10-o on aggregate, but with Arsenal in a better place as a team with players like Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, it could make for a much bigger and closer game.
One many people are also very excited to see is the game between PSG and Barcelona, in what could potentially be Kylian Mbappe’s last game for PSG. With talks of a Real Madrid move just around the corner for the star forward, PSG will look to defeat the former La Liga champions in what should be a very interesting matchup.
The last matchup, and what is seen as the most unanticipated game, is between Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. Both of these teams are not seen as huge favorites, which could potentially make for a very good game. Since Jadon Sancho’s return to Dortmund, they have found immense success in European competition. With that being said, Atletico will look to stop the hype train that Jadon Sancho is, and solidify their spot in the Champions League semi-final.
