With beginning of 2024 it was only a matter of time before the new body refreshes for Fords successful line-up would come. Ford has refreshed its entire line-up here in the last two years with new front end facias and more luxurious styling with a sporty twist.
The F-150 received a newly updated body along with the Explorer, however, the Explorer got the better changes. Starting with the way the line-up works is the biggest change. The Explorer had the base model trim level, then the XLT, followed by the ST line, Timberline, Limited, ST, King Ranch, and the Platinum. Now with the 2025’s right around the corner the trim levels have changed. The “base” model Explorer is now called the Active which is Ford’s version of the SUV a family needs to get up and go on a trip.
Then comes the ST Line of the new Explorer which is the Active, but with a more sporty approach and more options then the base Active comes with. The Explorer Platinum is the fully loaded trim level, but with the option of a 2.4L Four Cylinder Ecoboost, or the faster and more sporty 3.0L Ecoboost right out of the ST model. The ST model is equipped with everything the Platinum has but is standard with the 3.0L Ecoboost, sporty designing, enough power to put you back in your seat, and the amazing comfort that Ford is focused on keeping a priority.
The 2025 Ford Explorer has new body style. The 2025 Explorer sports a redesigned front end with a new bigger and sportier grille. Fortunately that is far from where the styling changes stop. The Explorer sports new headlights to look out for when you’re speeding. It also sports new flat black plastic trim that is subtle enough to where the whole car doesn’t look like its plastic.
Moving to the rear of the Explorer, the trunk has been more rounded off, and sports a new bar across the trunk with the Explorer name posted on it, along with that new trunk the taillights have been reworked to be fully LED, brighter and more efficient then ever.
The 2025 Explorer also comes with a fully revamped interior, designed to look like the 2024 Mustang’s infotainment system. The Explorer now comes standard with a 13.2 Inch horizontal infotainment system, and a 12.3 Inch digital instrument cluster. Along with the modern updated infotainment system the Explorer also comes standard with a Ten way power adjusting drivers seat. The Explorer still has the option for the 60/40 bench seat in the second row and the option for captains chairs in the second row.
Finally, the Explorer has been made for ultimate comfort and focused on everyone who may ride in it. Either with the more passenger focused power outlets or the more spacious leg and head room.
The Ford Explorer has become a staple of the American market, originally replacing the Ford Bronco II back in 1992, and has been one of the top selling SUV’s in America since its launch. With the Explorer’s success, it is clear that Ford doesn’t plan on killing the Explorer off yet, but wants to keep revamping it and keeping it above the curve for as long as possible, and the best way for Ford to do that is bring the new Explorer and keep them coming.
