On October first, around 3pm, a woman and her husband were walking their dog on a trail west of Glacier National Park, and just south of the U.S Canadian border when a bear jumped out of a bush and attacked her. The husband acted fast and sprayed the bear with bear spray. The bear, scared, ran away, and the women, her husband and dog quickly ran to their vehicle where they called emergency services. A helicopter arrived to help the woman and she was rushed to the hospital in Kalispell. The woman’s name is not known and no information about her medical condition has been released yet. Also, officials aren’t sure whether the bear was a black bear or grizzly bear, but the trail is closed off for now until further investigations.
