A principal in the Southern York County school district recently got in a lot of trouble for dressing in blackface at a staff training event.

Lisa Boyer the principal of Friendship Elementary School, had her staff play a game based on the tv show “Family Feud”.  A photo was taken from one of the teachers 5 months ago and recently leaked on twitter shows Boyer in a man’s suit, a cover cap to cover her hair, and makeup to make her skin appear darker.

NAACP president Sandra Thompson said “The incident reflects a lack of understanding”. Thompson believes further sensitivity training would broaden perspectives. Boyer apologized to her staff for being insensitive and she is taken steps to increase diversity awareness.
