Rockstar, a term that places the image of leather jackets, long hair, and killer solos into our heads. Sadly however stars fall. Ace Frehley died this past Thursday Oct. 17th, 2025 at age 74. Ace died in a New Jersey hospital after a fall that caused a brain bleed. He was put on life support, but failed to improve. This caused his family to make the heart breaking decision to turn life support off.
Ace was an original member of the band KISS. Known for their face paint, KISS took the rock world by storm, and standing on top of it all was their lead singer and guitarist, Ace Frehley.
Ace was born in 1951, his childhood was hard. Ace had a hard time in school, and was even a member of a street gang. Things turned around however when he joined the band KISS. With KISSs fame, Frehley was finally happy, underneath all the killer solos, and immense fame was substance abuse. The stress got to Ace which led him to leave KISS in 1982 to pursue a solo career. Fans missed him being a member of KISS however, Ace missed it himself, so he rejoined the band for a reunion tour in 1996. Ace did end up leaving KISS for a second time in 2002 due to differences between him and the band. He pursued a solo career once again, and enjoyed it, he even became sober again and lived a happy life until his death in 2025.
Ace once said, “That’s what Kiss is all about – not just music, but entertainment, y’know? We’re there to take you away from your problems, and rock and roll all night and party every day for those two hours you’re at the concert.” Even though Ace is deceased, he is still making people happy through his music, and his memory.
