In Tottori, southwestern Japan a customer was left dumbfounded after going in for a bite of his miso soup, but instead discovering a rat. The public was left in disgust and outrage leaving the company no choice but to shut down and make a change.
A Japanese restaurant,Sukiya, famously known for their beef bowls and guydon servings have announced to the public about their plans moving forward after seeing the infestation and contamination, in their restaurants, on a rise.
An investigation was launched about the rat and it was found that the rat entered through a crack in the door to the refrigerator.
Sukiya stated that they are taking the complaints “very seriously” and decided to carry out a nationwide clean of its outlets. This includes outlets in China, Singapore and Mexico.
The company has come out with many apologies to the public, for accommodation.
“We deeply apologize to the customer who reported the case to us over the tremendous pain and trouble,” a company statement said “We also apologize to all our customers who patronize our restaurants and related people for causing tremendous trouble and concerns.”
In another situation a customer faced a similar situation by finding a cockroach in the restaurant’s Tokyo outlet on March 28.
Sukiya plans to shut down from March 31 to April 4 to eliminate the contamination problems and pest infestations.
“We take this situation seriously and sincerely,” it said. “We will do our utmost to maintain a safe and clean environment.” Sakiya stated
