Ever since the UPMC Memorial Hospital incident in York, Wellspan has recently added security measures around all campuses and facilities. Now WellSpan has designed certain entrances to limit access to hospitals, and more security enhancements are planned to be made. Wellspan has recently been focusing on visitor guidelines, COVID-19 protocols, and facility security measures. Wellspan is trying their best to make their hospital a safer place for people who have injuries, sickness, they recently have been closing certain entrances to limit access to their hospital. Beginning on January 1st 2025, Wellspan will no longer participate with UnitedHealthCare Employee Group Medicare Advantage insurance plans. With Wellspan updating their policies, a new minimum wage of $17 per hour, weekend differential of 10% to team members. Wellspan stopped accepting Humana and UnitedHealthcare Medicare on January 1st due to ongoing disputes over reimbursement rates and administrative burdens. This year Wellspan has been doing different things with their hospital and have been changing it up, by no longer participating with UnitedHealthCare, added security measures, they’ve been focusing more on visitor guidelines. Ever since the shooting, Wellspan has changed their hospital lot for patients to feel safe, they went to court and explained what they were going to do to their hospital.
