Every family has their own traditions. Whether that’s going to the beach every summer, having a game night once a week, or swimming as soon as the pool opens back up. So I asked my brother, Kowen, what his favorite family tradition is and he replied, “My favorite family tradition is kind of normal, but it’s the holidays.” In our family every holiday we all go to someone’s house and meet up and spend some time together. Normally most of our family can make it, even the ones who live in Maryland. At the meetup everyone brings some food and we have a nice meal. Out of all the food Kowen says, “My favorite food I like to eat on the holidays is biscuits, they’re a delicious treat that you can put butter on, but I prefer not to. I just put them on my paper plate and head to the basement with my cousins and my brothers to hang out.”
To follow this up I asked Kowen what his favorite holiday was and he said, “My favorite holiday has to be Christmas. I love all the presents, the glamour, the galore, all of it just excites me, on Christmas morning, early at 6 AM. That is a dream come true.” Christmas seems like the perfect family day for Kowen because it checks all of his boxes. The holiday, family gathering, and biscuits.
