Micah Zech is 44 years of age. He grew up in West York and is now living in Spring Grove. He answered 10 questions.
The first question was, “When was the last time you went to a concert?” He answered, “The end of August 2024. It was a Foo Fighters concert at HersheyPark stadium.”
When he was asked, “What is your favorite childhood memory?” He replied, “When we got an insane amount of snow in 1996. The snow was so deep my brothers and I could jump off the bridge of Route 30.”
The third question was, “What is your favorite place you have traveled to?” He started off by saying, “I have traveled a lot, so it’s hard to pick just one.” He continued by deciding his, “all around favorite” would be Jamaica. He also stated that many individual things have stood out in places he has visited. For example, the volcanoes in Costa Rica and golfing in Cabo San Lucas. One thing that stood out in Jamaica were the people. Stating that they were the, “nicest people I’ve ever met.”
An interesting perspective on the question, “If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?” He answered, “Religion seems to have caused so much conflict in the history of the world. I wish that could have been changed throughout history up to today. I don’t know how but religion results in war and hatred. When it should be, in theory, the idea of religion is, peace but somehow it brings a lot of war.”
“If money were no object, what would you buy?” He answered, “I would buy the island of Kauai.” He clarifies that he would not, “kick anyone off of it.” It would just be “ideal for me” to live there.
I questioned him on the “dumbest way he has ever been hurt” he explained that he has “never broken a bone in my entire life.” Continuing to tell a story, “one time my dad leaned a digging iron against the side of a fence. I leaned against the fence and it slid down and banged me in the back of my head. That hurt pretty bad…I saw stars for a while.” He stated.
The seventh question I asked was, “If you could have lunch with one person from history, who would it be?” He answered by saying, “I would think Da Vinci. One of the best painters and creators of all time.”
When asked, “What is the spiciest thing you’ve ever eaten?” He answered, “Uncle Matt made some chili that almost killed me.” He finished talking about the chili by stating that it was “absolutely brutal.”
When questioned about who he would want to narrate his life he answered Danny DeVito. Stating that it would be “pretty funny.”
The last question is, “If you could speak any language, what would it be?” He says, “I took Spanish in high school and college but I’ve never got to full fluency. It never stuck. It would be nice if I was fluent. Other than that, I don’t really see a need to speak any other language.”
