The historic snowstorm in the south has left many suffering in vastly cold weather and even left many deceased. These types of storms are vastly foreign to the states along the Gulf coast, such as Louisiana to Texas.
Hyperthermia has presumably taken the life of someone in Georgia, said on the news conference Tuesday. The victim was caught outside the night prior. Deaths have been reported on the road as well with at least 5 people passing because of icy road conditions in Zavala county Texas.
An 80-year-old man in Milwaukee took a tumble and stumbled himself into hyperthermia early Sunday, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
An abundance of states have been breaking records because of this inadequate storm. Starting with New Orleans in the Louis Armstrong Airport on Tuesday with eight inches hitting the floor. This is abstonomacly different from the record made in 1936 with it only being a mere 2.7 inches.
Many are overly shocked that a 143-year-old record has been broken with more than five inches of snow hitting the streets of AL.
The strong snow and wind gusts have forced the Gulf coast to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, to issue its first-ever blizzard warning.
“This could deteriorate very quickly like it did in 2014,” Gov. Brian Kemp said. Kemp was referring to the incident where a few inches of snow immobilized Atlanta with numerous traffic incidents that trapped drivers in what became known as “Snowmageddon.”
Most flights out of Texas and Louisiana, according to flight tracking website FlightAware, have been canceled due to harsh weather conditions. In all 2,300 into or out of the US have been canceled
Even though there are many that are sulking through these grievous times there are actually some that rejoice in the new weather issue.
“This is the real deal, as we call it. The fluffy snow,” a 51-year-old school principal in Rayne Louisiana, Benny Fontenot, told CNN. He provided footage of himself sitting outside in the snow
“For me, it’s a blessing,” Fontenot said. “I mean, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that God blessed us with.”
