Interviewing students and staff

In Spring Grove Area High School Eleana went around interviewing students and teachers in the building right before Christmas break. Most students asked to stay anonymous. The question that they were presented with was, “When do you begin to decorate for Christmas?” Jerell Stocket and Malik Caine replied, “My mom handles all that but if I had to say when I’d say after Thanksgiving.” Though the teacher had a very odd reply, “My wife begins decorating right after/during Halloween.”  Through further viewing it was noted that the majority of people and staff seem to decorate right after Thanksgiving, the most common reasoning was because of family leaving around that time. Another response was from Teshaun Thomson, “My parents usually handle it when we do it but me and my brother do most of the decorating before Thanksgiving including the outdoor lights.” When asked about half of the students and staff said that they don’t decorate the outside of their house and only the inside, and a select few said they don’t decorate at all but still celebrate just due to sports and work. Overall many people in Spring Grove High School have very different ways of expressing their holiday cheer and it isn’t always through decorations sometimes its through family and memories!
