On Wednesday December 4th, Spring Grove High School held their first home wrestling match against Eastern York. Spring Grove took the win against Eastern York.
The Spring Grove wrestling match started at 7pm. Spring Grove took the W with a score of 50 to 18. The big match that was won by Spring Grove were, Darryn Gross with a pin against Drew Baker. Davis Baum pinned Gunner Yingst. Alfonzo Rivera with a pin against Keagan Hubler, and last but not least Connor Grub with a pin against Ethan Sgrignoli.
Some of the other matches that Spring Grove won were Andrew Eyster, five nosebleeds later, beat Issac Garner 4-0. During Davis Baum’s match, his opponent also got thrown to the ground and got a concussion. Jack Rohrbaugh won his match 5-0 against Brayden Lighty. “It was very exciting to win my first home opener match!” is what Jack Rohrbaugh said when I asked him how he felt about his win.
Lost matches for Spring Grove were Chance Boose against Cole Staker, he was pinned, and Job Garner won by forfeit.
All of the Spring Grove students dressed in all red for their theme, red out. It was to support a student at Spring Grove Chance Boose. His father died this past spring from a heart attack.
