The Spring Grove tree lighting was on December 5, at the Spring Grove traffic circle at 6:15 PM. There were plenty of vendors, food trucks, and crafts for little kids.
There were plenty of little events going on within the tree lighting. There was a Christmas parade that included dancers, music, clubs within the Spring Grove community, and Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus as the grand finale of the parade. The parade started at 5:45 PM and brought Santa to the circle which is where he sat to watch the tree light. The route of the parade was from the community park down Main Street to the circle.
The tree lighting started at approximately 6:15 PM at the circle. The tree lit up with hundreds of bright bulbs and ornaments with a big golden star at the top of the tree. The traffic was stopped for a few minutes during the lighting which caused a big backup of cars on Main Street.
After the tree lighting, Santa Claus made his way over to the Borough Office where he greeted kids, had cookies, and had hot cocoa. But there were plenty of other activities that had to be cancelled due to the forecast of high winds.
There were plenty of food trucks and stations at the tree lighting as well. The food trucks were the Yia Yia kitchen, Killer eats, Tom’s coffee truck, and Bite delights. There was also a cookie making station and a hot chocolate bar.
