With the year ending soon and almost all the rap albums of 2024 out here’s the top five best rap albums of the year based on equivalent album units.
At number one is Days Before Rodeo by Travis Scott selling 361,000 equivalent album units with songs like “Zombies” and “Don’t Play”. Days Before Rodeo is an album that was initially released on Aug 18, 2024 on
SoundCloud by the rapper but released to other streaming platforms on Aug 23, 2024 for the album’s 10 year anniversary. Travis Scott’s “Days Before Rodeo” is his second album.
At number two is GNX by Kendrick Lamar selling 319,000 equivalent album units. GNX is a surprise album by the rapper Kendrick Lamar released on Nov 22, 2024 with songs like “tv off” and “squabble up” is Kendrick Lamar’s sixth studio album and his sixth number one consecutive albums. Gnx is a car model that Kendrick Lamar’s dad had. This is his first album since splitting with his old record label TDE.
At number three is Chromakopia by Tyler The Creator selling 299,000 equivalent album units. Tyler’s eighth studio album and first album in three years; Chromakopia was released on Oct 28, 2024 with songs like “noid” and “darling, I” the album is about him growing up with some songs talking about his dad,past relationships and other things.his mom was narrating on the album which was a big part of the album.
At number four is The Death Of Slim Shady by Eminem selling 281,000 equivalent album units. Eminem’s twelfth studio album The Death Of Slim Shady was released on July 12, 2024 with songs “Houdini” and “Tobey” the album shows how he’s much more mature and peaceful than his alter ego slim shady and how he’s changed as he battled his alter ego throughout the whole album.
At number five is We Don’t Trust You by Metro Boomin and Future selling 251,000 equivalent album units. The first collaboration album of two between Future and Metro Boomin released on march 22, 2024 with tracks like “We Don’t Trust You” a popular track that played a role in one of the biggest rap battles of all time “Like that”. In the album future dissed popular artist Drake on multiple songs
