Anger and worry is felt in the public eye of New Jersey after drones are found scouting out the state. People want answers for this weird occurrence of drones.
Morris County, New Jersey, in mid-November was where the first drone was spotted. Since then drones have been seen all around New Jersey
Gov. Phil Murphy reassured the public that these drones are not a threat at this time. State officials stated that they are taking the mystery sighting of drones very seriously.
“We don’t see any concern for public safety,” Murphy said. “Having said that, it’s really frustrating that we don’t have more answers as to where they’re coming from and why they’re doing what they’re doing.” he told reporters on Monday.
Some more sightings were cargut on Friday with the claim, “some drones looked as large as an SUV with blinking lights on them.” Many other places got complaints, such as: Cherry Hill, Mount Laurel and Medfordhave.
Morris county continues to suffer in distress and confusion along with many others because 19 mayors have sent in letters of concern on the matter and demanding more info.
“The lack of information and clarity regarding these operations has caused fear and frustration among our constituents.”
Community leaders shared their concerns through a letter which stated,”Our efforts to address these concerns have been hindered by the lack of information available to us.”
The local officials requested a full investigation into the reason for the mysterious flights. and the executing of measures to prevent unauthorized or unsafe drone flights in Morris Co. in the future.
The mayors signing on to the letter represent Chester Borough and Chester Township, East Hanover, Florham Park, Hanover, Jefferson, Long Hill, Mendham Borough and Mendham Township, Mine Hill, Montville, Mount Arlington, Mount Olive, Parsippany- Troy Hills, Pequannock, Riverdale, Rockaway Borough and Rockaway Township, Roxbury, Washington Township, and Wharton.
As of now, Murphy has yet to respond to this letter specifically.
