Many turned from having an ebullient night to feeling despaired after a homecoming event, at Tuskegee University, turned into a shooting ground. The culprit of this change might’ve been found as of Nov. 10 because a suspect has been taken in by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The ALEA stated that Jaquez Myrick, 25, was arrested Sunday afternoon leaving Tuskegee university because he was in possession of a handgun with a machine gun conversion device. If he is found guilty he will have 16 charges of assault and charged with an account of homicide because there was one that was declared deceased at the scene.
Many are getting resting and getting treatment at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery
The shots started to set off around 1:40 a.m. on the Macon County campus as the school’s centennial homecoming festivities were coming to an end.
Late Sunday night, La ‘Tavion Johnson was identified as the one that died, by the Macon County Coroner’s Office.
There was an initial suspicion of multiple shooters at the time of the attack, according to the radio transmission of the officer
“There’s going to be two shooters at this time, maybe more,” This transmission was provided by Broadcastify.
Johnson’s parents have been notified, and a statement came out, from the university early Sunday, saying that the shooter is presumably not a university individual.
The ALEA is continuing to investigate the incident. Officials asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators immediately. They also recommended to submit any substantial evidence to the FBI.
