The night was foggy, the breeze brisk and the Spring Grove Rockets determined. The Rockets arrive a little before 6:00 pm to get ready. The stadium was wet from prior night’s rainfalls and the night’s mist; but that didn’t stop the Rockets. Senior Captain Holden Gobrecht states “ The team felt very good going into the game.” However this feeling was not consistent with throughout the crowd a fan states “Before the game I was weary about the outcome. I don’t know what to expect from the team.”
First quarter the Rockets scored several touchdowns making the score for the First Quarter to be 35-0. The cheerleaders celebrated as they knew it would be a good game. Senior Abbey Koons states “They were bringing the points and the energy I hope they bring the same against Dallastown.” The Rockets were thrilled to have such a lead against the Bobcats.
Quarter 2 there was pride within our Rockets. The Rockets proceeded to annihilate the Bobcats, ending the quarter “ 40-0.This was followed by a halftime performance by the spring Grove Marching Band and Color Guard with a beautiful display of the “Sound of Music”. They waved their flags high and tooted their horns loud and just like that the Rockets were back on the field.
Quarter 3 the Rockets knew there was little to know chance for recovery but they didn’t let that bring down their momentum raising the score to 47-0
Quarter 4 the fans in the stands celebrate knowing they would be victorious. The game ended with yet another Rocket Victory. Fan Isabella Vito reported “ I was extremely over-joyed. I was proud of our team and pleased with the outcome.” Captain Holden Grobect states “ We just came off a close loss and we knew that we were expected to play well and we played better than expected. The offense performed great and so did the defense. It was a great game over all and it built confidence for the red lion game.”
