This past weekend, WWE held their most recent Premium Live Event, King and Queen of the Ring in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
This event was wonderful for wrestling fans all around Saudi Arabia, and the night was kicked off with a match between Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Championship. This was the perfect start to the night, and the match ended with Liv Morgan defeating Becky Lynch and becoming the new Women’s World Champion in a heated rivalry.
The second match of the night was a triple threat match between Chad Gable, Bronson Reed, and the fan favorite Sami Zayn for the International Championship. This match turned out to be an instant classic, with Sami Zayn ultimately winning the fans over once again by retaining his championship.
The third match of the night was the Queen of the Ring Final between Smackdown’s Nia Jax and Raw’s Lyra Valkyria. In a very one sided match, Nia Jax became the Queen of the Ring, and will receive a World Title match at Summerslam this year.
In the fourth match of the night, the “Ring General” Gunther took on the “Viper” Randy Orton, in the King of the Ring Final. After a very entertaining match, Gunther took advantage of Randy Orton’s knee injury, and was able to become the King of the Ring, and will receive a World Title match at Summerslam this year.
In the Main Event, Logan Paul took on Cody Rhodes in a Champion vs. Champion match for Cody’s Undisputed WWE Championship. In what some would consider a banger, Cody retained his championship in one of the best matches the Saudi Arabian crowd will ever see.
