This week, Melody and Emersyn went around the building of Spring Grove High School and asked what students and teachers were most excited for, for summer break. They got a lot of the same answers from many people and some that were rare as well. They interviewed students and teachers during 7th period lunch and period 6/7 study hall.
On Monday April 29, they started off with students in open study during period 6/7. The answers they got were pretty common with each other and the majority said they were excited for beach vacations, spending time with family and friends, not having to come to school everyday, and tanning. Then we got some that were very specific like, “going to Ocean City to play sand soccer, going to the Bahamas for a wedding, and going to the mountains for Fourth of July and spending it with family”.
On Tuesday and Wednesday April 30 and May 1, Melody and Emersyn interviewed teachers and students at 7th period lunch. The answers they got from the students at lunch were pretty common with the answers they got the day before, kids answering with vacations, spending time with family and friends, not having to come to school, and tanning.
The teachers that they asked said sleeping and spending time with family and pets. Some of the specific answers that the teachers gave were, “going to the beach out of the country, going to the campground and reserving a spot for all summer, and one teacher also said they were looking forward to going to Myrtle Beach for a week in July”.
After all the interviews, as a school you can tell we are extremely excited for summer vacation, and we want it to start now!
