Every year, Spring Grove High Achool allows their seniors to direct and put on their own plays. This year the 6 one acts are: The Door, directed by Leland Klinedinst and Evelyn Messinger; The Happy Sick Day, directed by Wyatt Hollenburg; Plight At the Museum, directed by Finley Ritenour; Bad Auditions by Bad Actors, directed by Jaelyn Tucker and Wendy Zheng; Golilocks on Trial, directed by Tanner; and The Costumer is Always Wrong, directed by Morgan and Katy.
In The Door, a grandmother has shut herself in her apartment and refuses to respond to the continuous knocking at her door. The only person still able to reach her is her grandson, Jason. He desperately attempts to get her to open the door and confront her biggest fear. The day an officer came to her home to tell her that her grandson had been savagely beaten and brutally murdered because someone thought he might be gay.
In The Happy Sick Day, a high school girl named Jimmy wakes up and tells her parents about how sick she felt. Her parents try to help her feel better for tomorrow. When they leave the room, she gets up and starts having fun. She had tricked her parents to think she was sick.
In Plight at the Museum, two people named Bonnie and Clyde go to the same senior home and are constantly arguing with each other. When their senior home takes a field trip to a local museum they accidentally fall asleep. While stuck in the museum, a criminal group breaks in to the museum at night. When Bonnie and Clyde are found and attacked by them, Clyde knocks over and artifact that summons an evil wolf god. After finally confronting the person in charge of the heist, they are tied to chairs. After the criminal leaves, the wolf god comes back and unties them. They then adopt the wolf god and return to the senior home.
In Bad Auditions by Bad Actors, a casting director and her assistant, Regina, try to cast their production of Romeo and Juliet, but everyone of their actors are terrible. They see snotty celebrities, insane method actors, acting coaches, interpretive dancers, and a woman who may or may not think she is a cat.
In Goldilocks on Trial, Goldilocks is on trial for breaking and entering, it’s up to the judge if she will be sent to prison or not. He will hear a testimony from Goldie, the three bickering bears, surprise witness, Merwin the big bad wolf, and more.
In The Costumer is Always Wrong, four teenagers start their very first jobs. It’s not that hard to baby sit, wait tables, pass out flyers, or work at a movie theater, is it? They soon find out that in minimum wage, the customer is brutal and ruthless.
