Field of Screams in Lancaster Pa, is a place to go when people want to be scared for fun. On November 3rd 2023 members of the Spring Grove Area High School newspaper went there to gather information about the actors and behind the scenes.
One of the attractions visited was The Den of Darkness. The Den of Darkness is a three story barn which is an original 200-year old structure built in the early 1800’s. It was converted into a farmhouse. The Den began when the Murter family resided there.
Mr. Murter would torture both vagrants and locals who would approach his land. Later on, the residence was renovated into the Garden Hotel. The hotel owner was Frances Henry Worth, a well-known eccentric and psychotic millionaire. After it was built the hotel staff conducted ghostly experiments, committed torturous murders, and horrific killings increased.
People who visited this attraction reviewed this to be the spookiest attraction,“ Unanimous 10 out of 10”— Haunt Review crew. This crew went through the den of darkness giving it a 10 out of ten review. The Den leaves you with such a heart-pounding experience, the worlds scariest haunted house, “Pay to get in….Pray to get out.”
