Following the 49ers loss to the Browns, and the Eagles loss to the Jets this last Sunday, there is not a single undefeated team left in the NFL. Both teams underperformed severely, and ultimately was the cause of their losses.
Going into these games, both the Eagles and the 49ers looked very dominant with some very impressive wins to start the season.
The eagles were 5-0, with wins over the Rams and Bucs in this stint. It seemed to be an easy win against the New York Jets, but the odds changed very quickly once the game started. The Jets defense was able to fend off Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown, and the Eagles defense found no answer for Zach Wilson and Garrett Wilson. The Jets won the game 20-14, and handed the Eagles their first loss of the season.
The 49ers were also 5-0, but seemed to have an even easier game against the Browns who were starting their 2nd string quarterback, Phillip Walker. This game turned out to be one of the grittiest games this season, but the Browns slipped away with a 19-17 win over one of the most dominant teams in the NFL.
Following these two losses, it leaves zero teams undefeated, and gives a lot of teams a fighting chance at the playoffs even this early in the season.
