The annular eclipse will pass through 8 states, and a partial solar eclipse will be viable in all 49 states. This eclipse was first noticed in Bryce Canyon national park, Utah.
The local name of this beautiful eclipse is called the “Ring of fire” by the locals. This type of eclipse is so rare, so rare to the point where the next eclipse like this isn’t coming until 2039.
NASA is prioritizing safety, broadcasting participation, public engagement and citizen science for this eclipse.
This eclipse can only happen when the moon blocks out the center of the sun, leaving a glowing ring called an annulus around the moon’s dark silhouette. A silhouette is when the object is completely dark, but the surrounding objects have color.
When admiring this beautiful eclipse, you will be recommended to wear eclipse glasses but pedestrians have found another viewing method; the pinhole projector.
You will need two pieces of paper. Go outside, then place one of the papers on the ground and hold the other one above it. You will see that the paper on the floor is completely dark, since it’s covered by the second paper, except for one spot on the paper it will resemble a circle.
NASA has also stated that another eclipse will be approaching Monday April 8 2024, it is said that it will cross over North America passing over Mexico, the United States and Canada. This eclipse will begin over the Pacific Ocean.
It is said that the first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast at around 11:07 a.m. PDT
