On September 30, 2023 9 year old Charlotte Sena was taken from Moreau Lake State Park where her family was having a camping trip.
Charlotte was going on a bike ride with her friends and decided to do another loop on her own before she went missing. She was last seen around 6:15 pm. At 6:30 her parents began looking for her and at 6:45 they found her bike and called the police.
On October 1 ,a little after 9:30pm, after her parents called the police, an amber alert was sent out and a search started for Charlotte. At 4:20pm someone put a ransom note in the mailbox of the family’s house. The police found a fingerprint on the note belonging to 47 year old Craig Nelson Ross Jr that dated back to a 1999 DUI arrest. The police traced his location to his camper which was on his mothers property.
After a 48 hour search, the police found Charlotte in the camper less than five miles from where she had disappeared. She was found in a cabinet and covered but was in good health, according to authorities.
The suspect was arrested and put into custody and is now facing first degree kidnapping charges and other charges are expected to be added on.
On Monday, October 2 at 10:40pm a conference was held. on Tuesday at 3:40, 30 minutes after being in Milton town Court, Craig was held in Saratoga County jail without bail.
