There were five people found dead after a house exploded in Rustic Ridge, and Brookside Dr in Plums Borough. The house exploded due to an underground landmine that the house was built over. The detectives on the scene say that natural gas from the landmine is unlikely to have caused the explosion. Witnesses share what they heard, they said, “It just sounded like a war bomb went off, it was horrible.” Many crews from at least thirty-eight different fire departments helped to douse the fire. Natural gas alarm makers are hoping to prevent any further tragedies like the deadly Plum Explosion.
