There was a warning that heavy rain will hit New York City on September 29th, 2023 between 2 AM to 8 PM. It flooded Central Park with five and a half inches of rain. The warning came after one week after more than five inches of rain across parts of New York flooded subway stations, roads, and the terminal at LaGuardia airport. People had no idea what was going on, one subway conductor said “As the train moved onto the E line, I didn’t know where we were going.” People were also helping animals escape the zoo after seeing them struggle swimming, and one sea lion escaped the zoo pool. It was declared the “wettest day” New York City has had since Hurricane Ida swept through the area in 2021.
