Spring Grove Area High School has many upcoming and past events in the month of October.
Monday, October 1 was the start of German-American celebrations in the Integral Arts Center (IAC). The celebrations included activities, food and games.
On Tuesday, October 2 the new student breakfast was held at 7 am in the IAC. Renaissance Leadership Team provided an array of breakfast options, alongside a game of Jeopardy played by the new students.
On Wednesday October 4, the Renaissance Leadership Team also hosted a “Meet the Fall athletes night” and community movie night at Papermaker Stadium. Food Trucks, concessions, and tables lined the stadium as community members gathered to be introduced to SGHS’s fall athletes. “Cars” played as the community gathered on the turf to enjoy.
Spring Grove students will enjoy a half day on October 6, and a full day off on October 9.
On October 12, the fall athlete breakfast will be held in the IAC from 7 to 8am. There will be a surprise guest speaker to talk to the athletes who choose to attend.
The week of October 16 is Spring Grove Area’s 2023 homecoming week! The week consists of a spirit week for students and teachers. The parade and bonfire is on October 19, starting at 6:30pm. The parade will include community clubs and organizations, homecoming court, and class officers. Various food trucks, items for sale, and activities will be there. The homecoming football game will be on October 20, starting at 7:00pm. There, the homecoming king and queen will be announced and a fierce competition between SGHS’S varsity football team and Dallastown’s team begins. Finally, at the end of the week on Saturday, October 21 at 7:00pm, the homecoming dance will take place. The roaring 20s themed dance is bound to be a hit!
