Travis Scott Tragedy

Travis Scott concert kills 8

On November 5, 2021, a tragedy occurred at a Travis Scott Concert in Houston. At the concert,
the crowd surge was too extreme and 8 people were killed due to the crowd trampling them.
The largest question that has come out of this event is who is at fault?
The first, and most obvious culprit, is Travis Scott himself. Travis, as the performer, should be
paying attention to the crowd movements and whether or not the crowd conditions were
dangerous.
It is, in many people’s opinion, the fault of Travis due to poor venue planning and lack of
attention to the crowd which he was performing to. In a viral video, Travis Scott is pictured doing
the robot while the paramedics are treating somebody. Videos such as this, and others that
picture Travis Scott neglecting the conditions of the crowd, puts him at fault in many people’s
eyes.
However, some people are also blaming those who planned and controlled the venue that
Travis was performing in. The person who planned the festival must have known the
atmosphere which surrounds Travis Scott festivals and should have planned accordingly.
The promoters, Live Nation, plan and set up everything that is not actually playing the music at
the festival. So, due to improper planning, there were too many people for the allotted space at
the venue. This lack of proper planning of the event led to the surges resulting in the trampling
of the people.
Others are attempting to promote a conspiracy that says the surges were purposeful and part of
a satanic ritual the Travis Scott was leading. However, there is no true evidence that this was
the case.
On Instagram Scott stated, “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers
go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston
PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to
working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. Thank
you to Houston PD, Fire Department, and NRG Park for their immediate response and support.
Love You All.”
Even though there is not one clear person at fault, what happened at Travis Scott’s festival was
a tragedy.
