A former Yankees player Juan Soto is now signing with the New York Mets. This decision was made on Sunday night.
Juan Soto chose to go from being a Yankee to being a Met. He helped lead his team to the World Series and the New York Yankees were prepared to pay 700 million dollars for 15 seasons. “Soto’s signing signifies the next step in the Met’s evolution,” ESPN reported. The Mets had offered him 765 million dollars for 15 seasons/years. Juan Soto’s agent, Scott Boras, finalized his contacts to him signing to the New York Met’s at the Dallas winter signing meetings. This is on of the largest deal in sports. The Met’s now have a new outfielder, Juan Soto. One of the perks of him switching teams he gets a 75 million bonus. Yankees’ fans had taken this news very hard, they have been making videos and posting things on the internet saying how “disappointed”, and saying how they welcomed him into the team and them celebrating him for all the good things he has accomplished with the Yankees. This news to fans have them devastated and heartbroken. This news has already spread world wide within only a few days of being shared. So with this Juan Soto is going to be with the Mets for the next fifteen years. Juan signing with the Mets wasn’t an “easy deal” said by the Mets owner Steve Cohen. It took them 10 days including with many emotions, this deal had taken some convincing and was all over the place. Soto not knowing wether he should take the deal or not. Before this deal was finalized many other teams were very interested in Juan Soto including the Boston Red Socks, Dodgers, and the Blue Jays, and still even the Yankee’s. Many people are willing to see how far Juan’s career will go as a Met’s player.
